This is a varied, client-facing role suited to someone who enjoys managing their own portfolio, building strong client relationships and supporting businesses with their accounting, tax and compliance requirements. The successful candidate will be a proactive team player with solid technical knowledge and previous experience within an accountancy practice environment. Key Responsibilities - Preparing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies - Managing a portfolio of SME clients and acting as their day-to-day point of contact - Preparing and reviewing VAT returns, including clients operating within the CIS scheme - Preparing corporation tax returns and assisting with tax planning opportunities - Preparing self-assessment tax returns for directors and individuals - Producing management accounts and providing financial insights to clients - Reviewing client bookkeeping records and advising on improvements where required - Supporting clients with Xero, QuickBooks and cloud accounting solutions - Liaising with HMRC and Companies House on behalf of clients - Ensuring compliance with statutory deadlines and regulatory requirements - Assisting Partners and senior team members with ad hoc advisory projects What We're Looking For - Previous experience working within an accountancy practice - AAT qualified, ACA/ACCA part-qualified, qualified, or qualified by experience - Experience preparing accounts for owner-managed businesses - Good understanding of VAT, corporation tax and self-assessment - CIS experience desirable - Strong working knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks and/or Sage - Ability to manage multiple client assignments and deadlines - Excellent communication and client relationship management skills If you're an experienced Practice Accountant looking for a flexible role where you can take ownership of a varied client portfolio and contribute to a growing firm, we'd love to hear from you.
