Location: Bath (Hybrid Working - Minimum 3 Days in the Office) Salary: Competitive Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Are you an experienced HR professional looking to join a collaborative and people-focused organisation? We're seeking an HR Advisor to provide expert employee relations support, practical HR guidance, and coaching to managers across the business.
Working as part of a small and supportive HR team, you'll manage a varied employee relations caseload, support colleagues throughout the employee lifecycle, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the overall employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & HR Advice

Provide clear, consistent and pragmatic HR advice to managers and employees.

Manage a range of employee relations cases including:

Absence management
-
Probation reviews
-
Performance management
-
Disciplinary matters
-
Grievances
-
Flexible working requests
-
Coach and support managers to confidently handle day-to-day people issues.

Promote self-service HR tools and resources.
-
Escalate more complex or high-risk cases as appropriate.
-
Maintain accurate case records and identify opportunities for learning and improvement.
Policy, Compliance & Process Improvement
-
Support the review and development of HR policies and procedures.
-
Ensure HR processes remain legally compliant and consistently applied.

Analyse trends and people data to identify areas for improvement.
-
Contribute to initiatives that improve efficiency, service delivery and employee experience.
Employee Lifecycle Support

Provide HR support from onboarding through to exit.

Produce HR and payroll-related documentation.

Ensure employee records and HR system data are accurate and up to date.

Assist with reporting and HR administration activities.
Collaboration & Projects

Work closely with colleagues across HR and the wider business.

Support recruitment activity when required.

Contribute to employee engagement, diversity, inclusion and wellbeing initiatives.

Partner with colleagues on organisational development and people-focused projects.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll have:

CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience in an HR Advisory role).

Experience managing a broad employee relations caseload.

Strong working knowledge of UK employment legislation.
-
Experience developing or improving HR processes, policies and guidance materials.
-
Experience using HR systems to manage employee records and cases.
-
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

A coaching approach to supporting managers.
-
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
-
A professional, ethical and confidential approach when handling sensitive matters.
-
A genuine desire to learn, develop and progress your HR career.
Desirable Experience
-
CIPD Associate Membership.
-
Experience using HRIS platforms and employee self-service systems.
-
Exposure to people analytics, reporting or dashboard creation.
