    Are you an experienced HR professional who thrives on building trusted relationships, managing complex employee relations matters, and providing high-quality people advice?

    We're recruiting for an experienced HR Adviser to join a well-established public sector organisation in Berkshire for an 18-month period. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting managers and employees across a diverse and dynamic workforce, delivering professional, practical and commercially focused HR guidance across the employee lifecycle.

    Please note; This role requires a strong in-person presence and the expectation is that you will be based on-site for the majority of your working hours. Full time or 0.8 FTE hours can be considered.

    The Role

    As a trusted HR partner, you'll provide expert advice on a wide range of people matters, helping managers make informed decisions while ensuring compliance with employment legislation, organisational policies and best practice.

    A significant part of the role will involve managing and advising on employee relations casework, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence, restructuring and other workplace matters. You'll work proactively with managers to identify issues early, minimise risk and achieve positive outcomes.

    You'll also support recruitment and selection activity, advise on policy and procedure, contribute to organisational projects, and help develop people management capability across the organisation.

    About You

    We're looking for a confident HR professional with proven experience of delivering high-quality HR advice in a complex organisation.

    To be considered you will require:

    • Strong employee relations case management experience across a range of formal and informal processes

    • Experience providing pragmatic and solutions-focused advice to managers and employees

    • Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice

    • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills

    • The ability to influence, challenge constructively and build credibility at all levels

    • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines

    • CIPD qualification (or be working towards)

    • Previous experience within a large, unionised, public sector environment
