Job Title : Embedded Software Engineer Location: Cambridge (On-Site Working) Salary: £45,000 £55,000 + Bonus & Benefits (Depending on Experience) Please Note : All Applicants must have the right to work in the UK without the need for VISA sponsorship now or in the future. Overview : An opportunity has arisen with a repeat client who are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join their growing engineering team developing embedded software for next-generation electronic control systems. A successful candidate will be working closely with experienced software, systems and hardware engineers to deliver high-quality solutions and contribute to exciting new technologies. This role is ideal for someone with 1+ year of commercial experience looking to make their first career move, with the opportunity to take ownership, develop their skills and contribute to new products and technologies within a growing engineering function. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain embedded software for prototype and production systems. - Work across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through to implementation, testing and deployment. - Develop embedded C software and reusable libraries/components across multiple products. - Plan and execute software testing, verification and validation activities. - Collaborate closely with software, systems and hardware engineering teams in an agile environment. - Follow and contribute to engineering, quality, safety and cybersecurity processes and standards. - Take ownership of assigned tasks and contribute to continuous improvement of development and testing processes. Required Skills & Experience: - Commercial experience developing embedded software within a regulated environment. - Strong C programming skills, ideally in safety-critical embedded applications. - Good knowledge of MISRA C and embedded software development best practices. - Experience with 32-bit CPUs, FPUs, interrupts, peripherals and real-time programming. - Experience developing device drivers - Understanding of software development, testing and quality processes. - Experience with communication and development tools, such as Vector tools.
