Software Engineer

Sittercity is seeking a Software Engineer to help build and scale our online marketplace that connects families with trusted sitters and nannies. In this role, you'll design and deliver secure, reliable features that power search, matching, messaging, and payments for caregivers and parents. Working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment, you'll partner with product, design, and data teams to translate real caregiving challenges into intuitive digital experiences. You'll write clean, tested code, improve performance, and contribute to a culture focused on safety, innovation, and supporting families every day.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web and mobile features for Sittercity's childcare marketplace

• Collaborate with product, design, and data teams to translate family and caregiver needs into technical solutions

• Integrate third-party APIs and internal services to support search, matching, messaging, and payments

• Implement secure, well-tested code with attention to privacy, trust, and platform reliability

• Monitor performance, troubleshoot production issues, and optimize for speed and usability

• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies in a collaborative environment

• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical documentation for new and existing systems

• Use analytics and user feedback to iterate on features that improve caregiver and family experiences Required Skills
