Senior Software and System Development Engineer I

Honda Development & Manufacturing of America, LLC is seeking a Senior Software and System Development Engineer I to design, build, and optimize software and embedded systems that power advanced automotive manufacturing and products. In this engineering-driven, hands-on role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, architect solutions, and implement robust, scalable software that improves quality, safety, and efficiency across vehicle and powertrain operations. Responsibilities include system and software design, coding, integration, testing, troubleshooting on the plant floor, and continuous improvement aligned with "The Honda Way." Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance software and embedded systems for automotive manufacturing and products.

• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to define system requirements.

• Implement robust, scalable architectures and integration with plant and vehicle systems.

• Develop and maintain automation, tooling, and diagnostics to improve production efficiency and quality.

• Perform code reviews, testing, and validation to meet safety, reliability, and regulatory standards.

• Troubleshoot complex system issues in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

• Document designs, specifications, and technical reports for internal and external stakeholders.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives following lean and Honda engineering practices.
