    Job Description

    Lead a UK-wide media, communications and campaigns function, managing a team of three and driving proactive and reactive communications activity across multiple stakeholders.

    Play a key role in shaping public awareness, influencing policy discussions and positioning the organisation as a leading voice on important health and societal issues.

    Description

    • Lead the delivery of UK-wide media, communications and campaigns activity.

    • Manage and develop a team of three Senior Media & Communications Officers.

    • Drive proactive and reactive media relations, including crisis communications.

    • Build relationships with journalists, broadcasters and key stakeholders.

    • Identify opportunities to influence public debate and support organisational objectives.

    • Oversee communications activity across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

    • Monitor performance and use insight to optimise communications and campaign activity.

    • Support senior leadership with strategic communications advice and reputation management.

    Profile

    • Significant experience as a journalist and media relations professional.

    • Proven track record leading a high-performing press office function.

    • Strong people management experience, including line management and coaching.

    • Excellent understanding of the UK media landscape, including devolved nations.

    • Experience developing and delivering proactive and reactive media campaigns.

    • Skilled at handling high-profile, sensitive and crisis communications issues.

    • Strong stakeholder management skills with journalists and senior leaders.

    • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics.

    Job Offer

    • Salary range of 51,000 to 58,000 per year, dependent on the level of experience.

    • Permanent position based in London

    • 2 days a week in London
