P/C Accountant
Job Description
Michigan Farm Bureau seeks a P/C Accountant to support insurance and financial operations serving Michigan's agricultural community. In this role, you will manage property/casualty accounting, including premiums, claims, reserves, and reinsurance, while supporting monthly closes, reporting, and audits. Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze P/C insurance accounting entries, reconciliations, and financial reports

Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements

Monitor premiums, claims, reserves, and reinsurance activity for accuracy and proper classification

Assist with audits, regulatory filings, and internal controls documentation

Collaborate with finance, insurance operations, and member services to explain results and resolve discrepancies

Maintain and improve accounting processes, reports, and systems related to P/C insurance

Provide financial insight to support budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making

Support special projects, process improvements, and implementation of new accounting standards Required Skills
