Machine Vision System Programmer
Job Description
Steven Douglas Corp (SDC Automation) seeks a Machine Vision System Programmer to develop and integrate vision solutions for custom industrial automation and material handling systems. In this role, you will design and program image inspection, measurement, and identification applications, configure cameras, lenses, and lighting, and collaborate closely with controls, robotics, and mechanical engineers. You will support commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization at customer sites, working in a collaborative, quality-driven environment with opportunities to tackle complex automation challenges and grow your technical skills.
Responsibilities

Design, program, and integrate machine vision systems for custom automation and material handling solutions

Develop image processing, inspection, and part-identification routines to meet client specifications

Configure cameras, lenses, lighting, and optics for robust, repeatable performance

Collaborate with controls, robotics, and mechanical engineers on turnkey systems

Test, debug, and optimize vision applications on the shop floor and at customer sites

Document configurations, code, and procedures for support and future upgrades

Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of deployed systems

Work directly with clients to clarify requirements and refine system performance Required Skills
