Human Performance, Incident Investigation and Learning Advisor
Job Description
BP Energy is seeking a Human Performance, Incident Investigation and Learning Advisor to strengthen safety and reliability across our U.S. operations. In this role, you will lead complex incident and near miss investigations, apply human performance and human factors principles, and drive systemic corrective actions. You'll design and facilitate learning reviews, translate findings into practical guidance, and coach leaders and frontline teams. Partnering with diverse technical and operations groups, you will shape a just culture, enhance risk awareness, and support BP's transition to lower carbon energy with world class safety performance.
Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate investigations of incidents, near misses, and operational upsets

Apply human performance and human factors methodologies to identify systemic causes

Develop clear, actionable recommendations and track effectiveness of corrective actions

Facilitate learning reviews and debriefs with cross functional teams and leadership

Analyze incident and performance data to identify trends and prioritize risk reduction efforts

Create and deliver training and learning content on human performance and just culture

Advise leaders on integrating human performance principles into daily operations

Ensure investigations and reports meet internal standards and regulatory expectations

Collaborate with safety, operations, and engineering teams to embed lessons learned
