Job Description
HR Officer Location: Hertfordshire Permanent Full-Time Hybrid: 3 days office / 2 days home Reporting to: HR Business Partner
Mosaic Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced HR Officer to join an established Hertfordshire-based organisation.
This is a varied generalist HR position providing practical advice and support to managers and employees across the organisation. Working closely with the HR Business Partner, you will have particular involvement in Employee Relations, performance management, HR operations, learning & development and employee support .
We are looking for someone with solid UK HR experience who is confident managing their own ER caseload and providing practical, consistent advice to managers.
Key Responsibilities

Provide first-line HR advice to managers on conduct, capability, grievance, attendance, probation and flexible working .

Manage Employee Relations cases from initial assessment through to resolution, escalating complex matters when required.

Support investigations, hearings and appeals and prepare accurate HR documentation and correspondence.

Manage absence cases and coordinate Occupational Health referrals.

Coach and support managers through performance and capability processes.

Support the annual appraisal process and monitor completion.

Coordinate learning and development activities and maintain mandatory training records.

Act as an approachable first point of contact for employee HR queries.

Maintain accurate employee records and HR system information.

Produce HR reports covering areas such as headcount, turnover, absence, ER cases and training.

Support monthly payroll by providing accurate starter, leaver, absence and contractual change information.

Help improve HR processes, templates and ways of working.

Support employee wellbeing, engagement and inclusion initiatives.

Work with internal teams to communicate HR and people updates effectively.
About You You will need:

Previous generalist HR experience within the UK .

Practical experience managing Employee Relations cases .

Good knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice .

Confidence advising and supporting managers.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Excellent organisation and attention to detail.

The ability to manage confidential and sensitive information professionally.

Good HR administration and record-keeping skills.

A practical, approachable and solutions-focused style.
Desirable
-
CIPD Level 5 or above , or equivalent experience.
-
Previous experience as an HR Officer, HR Adviser, HR Generalist or similar .

Experience using HR systems/HRIS.
-
Exposure to Learning & Development, talent or reward projects.
