Job Description
Interim Administrator - HR
Term-Time Only Full-time or 4 days per week c.£22,000 actual salary (c.£26,000 FTE) Start: October 2026 Initially until December, likely to extend into 2027
Are you an experienced Administrator who is highly organised, confident with Excel and enjoys getting stuck into a variety of projects?
We are working with an established organisation to recruit an Interim Administrator - HR to provide additional support during a particularly busy period.
This is a varied, project-focused administration role supporting a busy HR function with recruitment, onboarding and wider administrative activity. You don't necessarily need previous HR experience - strong administration skills, attention to detail and the ability to pick things up quickly are most important.
The role
Working closely with the HR team, you'll provide practical administrative support across a range of projects and priorities, including:
-
Preparing recruitment and induction documentation
-
Supporting recruitment and onboarding administration
-
Creating, maintaining and updating Excel spreadsheets and trackers
-
Coordinating documentation and ensuring information is accurate and up to date
-
Attending meetings and supporting with notes and actions where required
-
Helping to keep projects and key activities moving forward
-
Providing additional administrative support across the HR function as priorities arise This isn't a reception or telephone-based administration role. You'll be given responsibility for your own workload, so we're looking for someone who is comfortable using their initiative and getting on with the task at hand.
About you
You'll be a capable and adaptable Administrator who enjoys working in a busy environment and can quickly become a trusted pair of hands.
We're particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:
-
Strong previous administration experience
-
Excellent Excel skills and confidence working with spreadsheets
-
Strong organisation and attention to detail
-
The ability to manage changing priorities
-
A proactive, self-sufficient approach
-
Good written communication skills
-
The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues
Previous HR, recruitment or onboarding administration experience would be useful but isn't essential. Solid administration experience is the priority.
The opportunity
This is a term-time-only interim position and is expected to run at least until December, with a strong possibility of continuing into the new year.
The role can be considered on a full-time or four-day-per-week basis.
There may also be potential for the opportunity to develop into something longer term, particularly for someone who brings relevant HR experience.
If you're an experienced Administrator looking for a varied interim opportunity and are available to start during October, we'd love to hear from you.
