Financial Analyst

Haffner's seeks a Financial Analyst to support its New England utilities and energy operations, including heating oil, propane, HVAC services, gasoline, and convenience retail. In this role, you will build and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models, delivering clear variance analyses and KPI reports for leadership. Partner closely with operations, logistics, and field teams to understand drivers of fuel, HVAC, and retail performance and to recommend actions that improve profitability. You will assist with month-end close, cash flow planning, and capital analysis while helping to refine financial processes in a fast-paced, safety-focused, community-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models for energy, retail, and service operations.

• Prepare monthly financial reports, variance analyses, and KPI dashboards for leadership.

• Partner with operations, logistics, and field teams to interpret results and improve profitability.

• Analyze fuel, HVAC, and convenience retail margins, pricing, and operating expenses.

• Support cash flow planning, capital investment analysis, and scenario modeling.

• Ensure data accuracy within ERP and reporting tools; reconcile key accounts and volumes.

• Assist in month-end close with journal support, accruals, and analytical review.

• Identify trends, risks, and opportunities, recommending cost and revenue improvements.

• Support strategic projects, new site evaluations, and performance benchmarking.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes, tools, and reporting.
