Commercial Assistant Rail / Infrastructure

Location: Huddersfield Salary: £36,000 Job Type: Permanent Working Pattern: Hybrid 3 days office / 2 days WFH

We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Assistant to join an established engineering and infrastructure business.

The role will initially involve a 6 9 month secondment supporting the commercial team on a major rail infrastructure programme, before returning to the wider business.

The Role

You will support the Commercial Manager and wider team with day-to-day commercial administration, including:

• Supporting weekly labour call-offs and orders

• Checking timesheets, rates and supplier applications for payment

• Processing authorised amendments and variations

• Maintaining commercial trackers, records and audit trails

• Liaising with suppliers and project teams to resolve queries

• Providing general commercial and administrative support About You

• Highly organised with strong attention to detail

• Confident using Microsoft Excel

• Good communication and problem-solving skills

• Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks

• Previous commercial, finance, procurement or administration experience desirable

• A relevant QS, commercial or construction qualification would be advantageous

• Rail/infrastructure experience desirable but not essential This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within commercial management, with potential progression towards Quantity Surveying.
