    Job Description

    Society Insurance Company is seeking a Claims Representative II to join our Insurance department. In this role, you will investigate, evaluate, and resolve commercial property and casualty claims for our niche clients, including restaurants, bars, and hotels. You will analyze coverage, determine liability, negotiate settlements, and maintain accurate documentation while delivering responsive, empathetic service. Working in a collaborative, innovative environment focused on community and employee support, you'll help businesses recover quickly and continue operations, while developing your expertise and advancing your career in claims handling.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage a portfolio of moderately complex commercial property and casualty claims from first notice of loss through closure.

    • Investigate claims by gathering statements, documents, photos, and reports from policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and other relevant parties.

    • Review policy language, endorsements, and applicable regulations to determine coverage and claim compensability.

    • Evaluate damages, obtain estimates, and work with approved vendors and experts to accurately assess loss exposures.

    • Negotiate fair and timely settlements within authority limits while adhering to company guidelines and state regulations.

    • Maintain accurate, detailed electronic claim files and ensure compliance with internal standards and statutory timelines.

    • Communicate regularly with insureds, agents, attorneys, and internal stakeholders to provide status updates and explain claim decisions.

    • Attend mediations, depositions, and other legal proceedings as needed to support the defense or resolution of claims.

    • Collaborate with team members and other departments to share information, improve processes, and support a collaborative culture.

    • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance technical claims expertise and customer service skills.
