Chief Engineer

Residence Inn Lynnwood seeks a hands-on Chief Engineer to lead all hotel engineering and maintenance operations. This role oversees HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety systems, and preventive maintenance for suites, public areas, and back-of-house. The Chief Engineer will supervise a small team, manage vendors, coordinate inspections, and ensure compliance with Marriott, local, and brand standards. Responsibilities

• Oversee all hotel building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life safety, and mechanical equipment

• Lead, schedule, and train maintenance staff to ensure safe, efficient operations

• Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs for guestrooms, public areas, and back-of-house

• Respond promptly to guest and associate service requests and maintenance issues

• Manage vendor relationships and oversee contracted repair and inspection work

• Monitor and control maintenance budget, parts inventory, and energy usage

• Ensure compliance with Marriott, brand, and regulatory safety and facility standards

• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection records, and work orders

• Support renovation and capital improvement projects as needed

• Partner with hotel leadership to support a guest-first, service-oriented culture Required Skills
