VP, Mortgage Loan Officer

California Credit Union is seeking a VP, Mortgage Loan Officer to drive mortgage growth and deepen relationships with educators and school employees across Southern California. You will source, develop, and close residential mortgage and refinance business, advise members on tailored home financing solutions, and manage a strong referral network of realtors, builders, and community partners. In this senior role, you'll champion member-focused service, ensure compliant, high-quality loan files, mentor junior originators, and represent the credit union at school and community events.

Responsibilities

• Originate and close residential mortgage and refinance loans for members, with emphasis on educators and school employees

• Develop and manage a strong pipeline through realtor, builder, and community referrals

• Conduct needs-based financial consultations and present appropriate mortgage solutions

• Ensure loans meet credit union, investor, and regulatory guidelines and quality standards

• Collaborate with underwriting, processing, and closing teams to ensure timely, accurate funding

• Represent the credit union at school, community, and educational events to build brand and relationships

• Mentor and support junior mortgage originators and branch staff on mortgage products and sales practices

• Leverage digital tools and CRM systems to manage leads, track production, and report results Required Skills
