Senior Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster
Job Description
Gallagher Bassett, a global leader in risk and claims management, seeks a Senior Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster to manage complex lost-time and litigated claims. You will investigate coverage and liability, analyze medical and wage-loss documentation, set and adjust reserves, and negotiate equitable settlements within authority. Partner closely with employers, injured workers, attorneys, medical providers, and internal teams to drive timely, cost-effective claim resolutions. You'll mentor junior adjusters, ensure regulatory compliance, produce accurate reports, and contribute to process improvements in a professional, client-focused culture.
Responsibilities

Independently manage a caseload of complex workers compensation claims from intake to closure

Conduct thorough investigations, including statements, medical review, and wage verification

Analyze coverage, compensability, and liability, and document determinations clearly

Establish, monitor, and adjust reserves based on exposure and company guidelines

Negotiate settlements within authority and recommend strategies for litigated files

Collaborate with employers, injured workers, attorneys, and medical providers to drive resolution

Ensure compliance with state workers compensation statutes and internal policies

Prepare accurate reports, correspondence, and documentation within required timelines

Mentor and support junior adjusters, sharing best practices and technical expertise
