Sales Intern

Fifth Wheel Freight is seeking highly motivated interns for a Sales Internship in our Grand Rapids, MI headquarters. In this role, you'll support our freight brokerage teams by researching prospects, building lead lists, making outbound calls, and helping manage customer and carrier relationships across truckload, LTL, and intermodal freight. You'll learn sales fundamentals, pricing, and transportation operations in a fast-paced, competitive environment that rewards performance. Responsibilities

• Research and qualify potential shipping customers in target markets

• Build and maintain lead lists and update records in CRM systems

• Make outbound calls and send emails to generate new freight opportunities

• Support account executives with quoting, pricing, and proposal preparation

• Assist in coordinating shipments with carriers and internal operations teams

• Track shipments and help communicate status updates to customers and carriers

• Analyze lane data and market trends to support sales strategies

• Collaborate with team members in a competitive, goal-driven environment

• Participate in structured sales and logistics training sessions

• Document activities, results, and pipeline updates for leadership review Required Skills
