Patient Financial Counselor

Ensemble Health Partners seeks a Financial Counselor to support patients in understanding and managing their healthcare financial responsibilities. In this role, you'll conduct financial screenings, explain insurance coverage, estimate out-of-pocket costs, and set up payment plans to reduce financial stress for patients. You'll collaborate with clinical and revenue cycle teams, ensure accurate documentation, and use technology-enabled tools to improve collections and patient satisfaction in a mission-driven, patient-focused environment with opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient financial counseling on insurance coverage, estimates, and payment options

• Conduct financial screenings and assess patient eligibility for assistance programs

• Verify insurance benefits and coordinate with revenue cycle and billing teams

• Develop and manage patient payment plans in alignment with organizational policies

• Document all patient interactions and financial arrangements accurately in systems

• Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to support a positive patient experience

• Use technology-enabled tools and analytics to improve collections and reduce bad debt
