Medical Billing Specialist

Aspire Health Partners, a leading non-profit mental health and addiction service provider in Central Florida, is seeking a dedicated Medical Billing Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial sustainability of our services, which are tailored to support individuals battling mental health issues, substance abuse, and homelessness. The ideal candidate will have a meticulous attention to detail and a genuine passion for making a difference in the community through effective financial management and billing practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit billing data and medical claims to insurance companies.

• Ensure the patient's medical information is accurate and up to date.

• Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe.

• Check each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract discounts.

• Resolve billing issues by directly interacting with the insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients.

• Maintain billing software by updating rate changes, billing codes, and any rebates.

• Handle all aspects of patient billing, including answering patient inquiries about charges and coordinating payments plans.

• Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing.

Required Skills

• Familiarity with medical terminology and the healthcare insurance industry.

• Proficient in using medical billing software.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.

• Experience with the coding systems ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.
