    Job Description

    RG Consultancy are working with an excellent medium sized turnover company, located in Bury who are looking for an experienced management accountant, someone driven and wanting to develop. This role reports into the financial controller and will join a team of 5.

    The role will take responsibility for the month-end and management accounting across multiple trading entities. You will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting within tight deadlines, providing meaningful analysis and supporting the continued improvement of finance processes and controls.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Take ownership of the month-end close process across multiple entities, ensuring deadlines are consistently achieved.

    • Prepare accurate and timely management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow information.

    • Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments and depreciation.

    • Complete bank reconciliations and key balance sheet reconciliations.

    • Reconcile inter company transactions and investigate any discrepancies.

    • Provide clear financial commentary and analysis on monthly results.

    • Support the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.

    • Assist with cash flow forecasting and provide relevant financial information and analysis.

    • Identify trends and variances and provide insight to support business decision-making.

    • Maintain appropriate financial controls in line with company policies and accounting standards.

    • Support internal control processes, including maintaining documentation and providing evidence where required.

    • Assist with the identification and resolution of control deficiencies and implementation of corrective actions.

    • Support internal and external audit processes, responding to queries and providing supporting documentation.

    • Assist with VAT returns and other financial compliance requirements.

    • Support the preparation of year-end accounts and audit requirements.

    • Build strong working relationships with operational and commercial teams.

    • Work closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure financial information is accurate and delivered on time.

    • Clearly communicate financial results and explain accounting requirements to non-finance colleagues.

    • Independently manage and prioritise workload across multiple entities.

    • Consistently meet reporting deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy.

    • Identify opportunities to improve and automate existing processes and reporting.

    • Take ownership of tasks and proactively resolve issues.

    Skills & Experience Required

    • Candidates who are nearing qualification will also be considered where they have strong relevant experience.

    • Strong Excel skills.

    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with non-finance stakeholders.

    Desirable Experience

    • Exposure to consolidation processes.

    • Previous involvement in budgeting and forecasting.

    • Exposure to VAT and audit processes.

    • Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure, with a strong sense of ownership.
