Financial Controller

Robert Half is delighted to be partnering with a well-established international manufacturing and engineering business to recruit a Financial Controller on a 12-month fixed-term contract basis to cover maternity leave. The role will be based in Fife with hybrid working on offer.

The role offers significant exposure to senior leadership, responsibility for a finance team, and the opportunity to influence both operational and strategic decision-making.

The Role

Reporting into senior finance leadership, the Financial Controller will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the business whilst providing commercial support to stakeholders across multiple functions.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the monthly management reporting process and ensuring timely, accurate financial information.

• Managing forecasting, budgeting, and planning activities.

• Maintaining robust financial controls and balance sheet integrity.

• Overseeing VAT and other statutory compliance requirements.

• Supporting inventory and fixed asset accounting processes.

• Partnering with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insight and support business performance.

• Identifying and driving process improvement initiatives across finance.

• Leading, developing, and supporting an established finance team.

About You

We are keen to speak with finance professionals who can demonstrate:

• A professional accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

• Previous experience in a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager position.

• Strong financial reporting, planning, and analysis capabilities.

• Experience managing and developing finance teams.

• Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills.

• Strong systems and Excel proficiency.

• A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
