Location: Gravesend, Kent

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 DOE + Discretionary Bonus

THE OPPORTUNITY

EliCay Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Commercial Finance Manager to join a growing group of businesses based in Gravesend, Kent.

This is a broad, hands-on sole charge finance role, taking ownership of the finance function across multiple companies within the Group. You will combine traditional financial management with commercial analysis, business partnering and process improvement, while becoming a key member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and financial control, while providing the commercial insight needed to support operational and strategic decision-making.

As the business continues to expand, there is also the potential to grow the finance function and introduce additional team support.

THE ROLE

• Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts and cash-flow reporting across the Group

• Manage working capital, credit control, VAT, payroll and financial controls

• Analyse customer, contract, project and divisional profitability to identify opportunities to improve margins

• Produce commercial reporting, financial models, KPIs and recommendations for the Directors

• Manage construction-related finance including CIS, valuations, variations, retentions and project cost reporting

• Improve finance systems, Sage reporting, processes and internal controls THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Experience as a Finance Manager, Commercial Finance Manager, Financial Controller or Senior Management Accountant

• Strong management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow experience

• Experience working across multiple companies or entities

• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to analyse profitability and support business decisions

• Confident using Sage and Excel with an interest in improving systems and processes

• A proactive, hands-on approach and the confidence to take ownership of a sole charge finance function Applications are welcomed from ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified candidates as well as experienced QBE accountants. Previous experience within construction, engineering, waste, logistics or plant hire would be advantageous but is not essential.

SALARY & BENEFITS

• £60,000 - £70,000 depending on experience

• Discretionary performance-related bonus

• Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

• Career progression towards Financial Controller / Finance Director This is a fully office-based position in Gravesend with no hybrid working.
