Assistant Director of Human Resources

Park Central Hotel New York seeks an Assistant Director of Human Resources to support HR operations in a historic, upscale, high-volume hotel near Central Park. In this guest-centric, fast-paced environment, you will coordinate recruitment, onboarding, HRIS and records, benefits support, and employee relations, ensuring compliance with employment laws and hotel policies. You'll partner with leaders on staffing and performance management, help deliver training on service standards and workplace practices, track HR metrics, and champion a professional, collaborative culture that delivers warm, personalized hospitality to a diverse global clientele.

Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Human Resources in daily HR operations for a high-volume, upscale hotel environment

• Coordinate full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and orientation for hotel staff across departments

• Maintain accurate employee records, HRIS data, and compliance documentation with federal, state, and local laws

• Assist with benefits administration, leave management, and payroll coordination

• Support performance management processes, including evaluations, coaching documentation, and corrective actions

• Help design and deliver training on service standards, policies, and workplace conduct

• Serve as an employee relations resource, helping resolve concerns with professionalism and confidentiality

• Partner with department leaders to ensure staffing levels, scheduling practices, and HR processes support guest service goals

• Track HR metrics (turnover, vacancies, time-to-fill) and prepare reports for leadership
