Keeler Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a well-established, family-owned business with the recruitment of a newly created Assistant Accountant position within their busy Accounts Team.

Key responsibilities:

• Daily authorisation of payments

• Completing Balance Sheet reconciliations, including providing clear narratives and following up outstanding items

• Supporting the Accountant with the preparation of accruals and prepayments

• Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts

• Responding to management queries relating to financial information

• Monitoring outstanding debts and reporting on aged or overdue balances

• Identifying opportunities to improve financial and operational processes

• Supporting the analysis and review of existing procedures and controls

• Highlighting discrepancies, potential issues or concerns to management, including any potential fraud

• Providing financial and analytical information to support operational decision-making

• Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation in line with company and legal requirements

About you:

• AAT Level 3 qualification or equivalent is preferred, although candidates who are qualified by experience will also be considered

• Previous experience within a busy finance or accounts environment

• Strong numerical and analytical skills

• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

• Honest, reliable and professional with strong integrity

• A flexible, positive and 'can-do' approach

• Someone who is keen to develop their skills and progress within their finance career
