Accounts Assistant

Accounts Assistant Location: Worcestershire Contract Type: Temporary Salary: Competitive Start Date: ASAP The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join a busy finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous experience working within an accountancy practice who is looking to start immediately.

You will possess a solid understanding of core accounting principles, alongside exposure to basic tax compliance and self-assessment processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records

• Assisting with the preparation of VAT returns

• Supporting month-end processes and management accounts preparation

• Liaising with clients and responding to finance-related queries

• Assisting with bookkeeping duties across a portfolio of clients

• Supporting the preparation and submission of self-assessment tax returns

• Assisting with basic personal tax computations

• Maintaining client records and ensuring compliance deadlines are met

• General finance administration and ad hoc support to the wider team Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice is essential

• Experience of bookkeeping and management of day-to-day accounting records

• Exposure to self-assessment tax returns and basic tax compliance duties

• Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar

• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• AAT qualified or currently studying (desirable but not essential)

• Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities What's on Offer
