Test Automation Engineer

Senior Automation Engineer Contract Liverpool (Hybrid) Bright Purple is working with a client in Liverpool to find two Senior Automation Engineers for a contract starting this month. It's a chance to join a collaborative delivery team where you'll have a real say in the quality and test automation approach. &#(phone number removed); Location: Liverpool, onsite Tuesday to Thursday &#(phone number removed); Rate: £325 - £350 per day - Statement of Work &#(phone number removed); Start date: 12 October 2026 Duration: 3 months initially, with a view to extend by a further 6 months The role You'll design, build and maintain test automation frameworks with Playwright and TypeScript. The work is hands-on, but you'll also be client-facing: you'll work closely with stakeholders, explain your approach and help raise the quality bar across the team. What you'll be doing

• Designing, building and improving automated test suites using Playwright and TypeScript

• Building robust, scalable and maintainable automation frameworks

• Working with developers, BAs and product owners to make sure quality is built in from the start

• Fitting automated testing into CI/CD pipelines

• Sharing progress, risks and recommendations clearly with client stakeholders

• Mentoring and supporting other team members on automation best practice What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Senior Automation Engineer or in a similar role

• Strong hands-on skills in Playwright and TypeScript

• Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to work directly with clients

• A collaborative, proactive approach and a good fit with the client's people-focused culture

• Insurance sector experience would be a real advantage, but isn't essential Why apply?
