Small Business Market Manager

Midland States Bank is seeking a Small Business Market Manager to lead growth and relationship development with small business clients across the Midwest. In this role, you will drive deposit and loan portfolio growth, lead local business development efforts, and deepen relationships through tailored banking, cash management, and treasury solutions. You will coach and support branch and business bankers, partner with product and credit teams, and ensure strong credit quality, risk management, and compliance. The ideal candidate combines sales leadership with community involvement, financial acumen, and a passion for helping small businesses thrive.

Responsibilities

• Lead small business banking growth in assigned market, driving deposits, loans, and fee income

• Develop and execute local business development strategies and sales plans

• Build and deepen relationships with small business clients through tailored banking solutions

• Coach and support branch staff and business bankers on small business sales and service

• Partner with credit, treasury, and product teams to structure competitive solutions

• Monitor portfolio performance, credit quality, and risk, ensuring policy and regulatory compliance

• Represent the bank in community organizations and events to build brand and referrals

• Use data and market insights to identify opportunities and adjust strategies

• Ensure high standards of customer experience, responsiveness, and problem resolution
