Senior Underwriter

K2 Insurance Services, LLC seeks a Senior Underwriter to lead underwriting for specialty insurance programs. In this role, you'll analyze complex risks, structure tailored coverage, and price accounts to achieve profitable growth. You will manage a book of business, negotiate terms with MGAs, brokers, and carrier partners, and ensure adherence to guidelines and regulatory standards. You'll collaborate with entrepreneurial program teams, contribute to product and portfolio strategy, and mentor junior underwriters in a performance-driven, innovative environment with strong advancement potential.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite complex specialty insurance submissions within assigned authority levels

• Analyze risk exposures, financials, and coverage terms to ensure profitable underwriting decisions

• Structure coverage, pricing, and terms aligned with company guidelines and market conditions

• Negotiate terms and conditions with brokers, MGAs, and carrier partners

• Manage and grow a book of business while maintaining strong loss ratio performance

• Collaborate with program administrators and internal teams on product development and portfolio strategy

• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and results to refine underwriting approaches

• Mentor junior underwriters and support training on underwriting best practices

• Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, regulatory requirements, and company policies
