Senior Financial Accountant

First National Bank Texas is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to lead key accounting and reporting activities for our community-focused bank. In this role, you will own month-end and year-end close, prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements, and manage complex general ledger reconciliations. You will analyze variances, strengthen internal controls, and support internal and external audits. Partnering closely with finance, lending, and operations teams, you will provide insight that supports sound decisions and helps maintain our commitment to integrity, transparency, and long-term customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

• Oversee general ledger activity, reconciliations, and adjustments for assigned accounts.

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely, accurate reporting.

• Analyze variances and trends, providing insights and recommendations to management.

• Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies.

• Support internal and external audits with schedules, documentation, and explanations.

• Collaborate with finance, lending, and operations teams on financial issues and projects.

• Assist with regulatory and management reporting specific to banking operations.
