Senior Data Scientist

Canon U.S.A. seeks a Senior Data Scientist to drive data-driven innovation across imaging and manufacturing operations. You will lead end-to-end machine learning and advanced analytics projects, from problem framing and data acquisition through modeling, validation, and deployment in production environments. Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and product teams to optimize yield, quality, predictive maintenance, and customer experience. Mentor junior data scientists, champion best practices in MLOps and experimentation, and help shape Canon's analytics roadmap in line with its Kyosei philosophy and global sustainability initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design, development, and deployment of machine learning and advanced analytics solutions for imaging and manufacturing use cases.

• Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and product teams to identify high-impact analytical opportunities and translate business needs into data science projects.

• Build, validate, and maintain predictive and prescriptive models (e.g., quality prediction, predictive maintenance, demand forecasting, optimization).

• Collaborate with data engineering to design robust data pipelines, feature stores, and scalable production environments in the cloud.

• Establish best practices for MLOps, experimentation, and model monitoring to ensure reliability and performance in production.

• Communicate insights, trade-offs, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.

• Mentor and guide junior data scientists and analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

• Support Canon's Kyosei philosophy by applying data science to improve sustainability, efficiency, and customer experience across products and operations.
