Senior Commercial Claims Adjuster

Gallagher Bassett seeks a Commercial Senior Claims Adjuster to manage complex commercial claims from first notice through resolution. In this role, you will investigate losses, analyze coverage and liability, set and maintain reserves, and negotiate settlements that balance client, claimant, and regulatory requirements. You'll coordinate with brokers, clients, attorneys, and medical or technical experts while ensuring accurate documentation and compliance. As a senior team member, you'll mentor junior adjusters, support continuous improvement in claims practices, and help deliver superior outcomes for clients and injured individuals.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and evaluate complex commercial insurance claims from first notice through resolution

• Review policy language, coverage, and liability to determine claim exposure and strategy

• Analyze medical, legal, and financial documentation to support claim determinations

• Negotiate settlements with insureds, claimants, and attorneys within authority levels

• Coordinate with internal teams, brokers, and clients to provide timely claim updates

• Ensure accurate claim reserving, documentation, and compliance with regulations and company standards

• Direct and manage independent adjusters, experts, and vendors as needed

• Identify subrogation and recovery opportunities and pursue when appropriate

• Contribute to process improvements and best practices in claims handling
