Media Relations & Public Relations Specialist

MCC seeks a Press Assistant to support media outreach that advances its Christian Anabaptist mission of relief, development, and peacebuilding. The role drafts and edits press releases, media advisories, and stories highlighting MCC's global work; maintains press lists and tracks coverage; coordinates interviews and information gathering from international staff and partners; and helps manage web and social media content. Working in a collaborative, cross-cultural environment, the Press Assistant ensures clear, accurate, and timely communication that reflects MCC's faith-driven values and commitment to justice and peace.

Responsibilities

• Draft and edit press releases, media advisories, and feature stories about MCC's programs

• Support media outreach by maintaining press lists and distributing communications

• Track and summarize media coverage related to MCC and its focus areas

• Gather information, quotes, and stories from global staff, partners, and program sites

• Assist with web and social media content publishing aligned with MCC messaging

• Ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency with MCC's Christian Anabaptist voice and values

• Coordinate with internal teams to meet deadlines for announcements and campaigns

• Conduct background research and fact-checking for media materials Required Skills
