Kurdish Linguist

Leidos is seeking a Kurdish Linguist to support mission-critical IT and national security programs. In this role, you will translate, transcribe, and interpret Kurdish (Kurmanji and/or Sorani) to and from English, ensuring high linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance. You will analyze written and audio materials, prepare clear English summaries, and support intelligence and technical teams with real-time interpretation. The position requires strict adherence to confidentiality, security protocols, and QA standards while working closely with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Translate and interpret Kurdish to and from English with high linguistic accuracy

• Transcribe and analyze Kurdish audio and written materials

• Produce clear English summaries and reports for technical and mission teams

• Apply cultural knowledge to ensure contextually accurate translations

• Support real-time interpretation for meetings and operations as needed

• Follow security, confidentiality, and data handling protocols

• Use CAT tools and other linguistic/IT systems to manage language assets

• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and project staff in a fast-paced environment

• Perform quality assurance reviews of translated materials

• Maintain and update glossaries and term bases for Kurdish language content Required Skills
