Finance and Accounts Manager.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance and Accounts Manager to join a thriving construction business based in Hertford, England. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys being at the heart of finance operations, supporting a growing organisation with your expertise and nurturing a small team.

This is a pivotal role for the business and will have scope to expand and grow alongside the business.

• Take full ownership of the finance function, including payables, receivables, credit control, bank reconciliations and supplier relationships.

• Prepare and release payment runs and payroll, maintaining sound controls.

• Own the month-end process and produce management accounts and reporting.

• Explain financial performance clearly to directors and non-finance colleagues, and highlight issues and opportunities.

• Prepare budgets, forecasts and cash flow plans.

• Manage VAT and other statutory compliance, deadlines and filings.

• Be the main point of contact for external accountants, auditors, banks and payroll providers.

• Prepare for and support the year-end audit and statutory accounts.

• Build and improve finance processes, systems and controls as the business grows.
