Executive Underwriter

Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. seeks an Executive Underwriter - E&S Property to evaluate complex commercial property risks, structure customized coverage, and grow a profitable book of E&S business. You will analyze submissions, perform pricing and risk selection, negotiate terms with brokers, and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines. Partner with risk engineering, claims, and actuarial teams to develop solutions, support portfolio management, and contribute to product and process improvements in a collaborative, learning-focused culture.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite complex E&S commercial property accounts

• Analyze submissions, exposure data, and financials to determine risk quality

• Price risks using underwriting tools and ensure alignment with guidelines

• Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with brokers and customers

• Structure customized coverage solutions and review policy wording

• Manage and grow a profitable underwriting portfolio and pipeline

• Collaborate with risk engineering, claims, and actuarial teams

• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to adjust strategies

• Contribute to product, process, and underwriting guideline improvements

• Support junior underwriters through coaching and knowledge sharing Required Skills
