Job Summary: This is a hybrid position requiring an on-site presence 3 to 4 days per week. Please note that the number of days on-site can increase based on business needs. As a Cloud Engineer , you will oversee the design, implementation, and management of our cloud infrastructure on the Google Cloud P latform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess requirements, develop cloud solutions, and ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of our cloud-based systems. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in GCP infrastructure architecture and a deep understanding of GCP Database solutions, Data architecture and data analytics solutions . You will participate in architecture reviews of GCP environments, bring engineering best practices, lead and implement changes, and inspire teams toward delivery excellence at Sysco. Duties and Responsibilities: - • Lead the implementation of the Google Cloud Platform Data architecture while collaborating with cross-functional teams. - Design, implement, and manage highly available and scalable cloud infrastructure on the Google Cloud Platfor m . - Collaborate with stakeholders and application teams to understand business requirements, translate them into cloud architecture designs, and provide operational support to application teams. - Develop and maintain cloud data migration strategies, including assessing existing systems, identifying gaps, and recommending remediation and infrastructure implementation plans. - Ensure the security, availability, and performance of GCP resources through proper design and configuration. - Implement and optimize cloud-based infrastructure solutions, such as virtual networks, private service access, storage, databases, compute resources, and identity and access management. - Define and enforce cloud governance policies, including resource tagging, access controls, and cost management. - Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to GCP infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance. - Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in GCP and cloud computing technologies and provide recommendations for continuous improvement. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Data architect s , developers, network administrators, security specialists , and cloud providers to ensure seamless integration of cloud solutions. - Work with DevOps and IaC tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Docker and Terraform . - Ensure the security and compliance of all Sysco's infrastructure, data, applications, and configurations. - Design / Develop Scripts for Automation where appropriate . Education Required: - Extensive knowledge of GCP infrastructure, services, and Database solutions , including GCP private/internal access technologies , Cloud Storage, GCP BigQuery , Cloud Spanner , Dataflow , Dataproc etc - Should have a successful track record in architecting, designing, implementing, and managing systems and infrastructure in a cloud computing environment, including hybrid architectures. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or appropriate related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience may be substituted for these education requirements. Education Preferred: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Experience Required: - 3 years of relevant experience in public cloud administration ( Google Cloud Platform. ) Experience Preferred: - 5 years preferred Licenses/Certifications Required: - Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert - AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional Licenses/Certifications Preferred: - GCP Certified Cloud Engineer - Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate - GCP Cloud Architect - VMware Certified Professional Skills and Abilities: Working experience with native cloud technologies, 3rd party automation tools as such as Jenkins, Terraform, Chef, Cloud Custodian, and automation/scripting via CLI including Python, Bash and Powershell.
