An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Lead Maintenance Engineer to join a highly automated manufacturing facility in Slough.

This role would suit a Lead Engineer, Senior Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Multi-Skilled Engineer, Automation Engineer, Controls Engineer, PLC Engineer or Reliability Engineer looking to join a business that is investing heavily in its people, equipment and automation capabilities.

Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will take a leading role in maintaining and improving production equipment, supporting automation systems, driving reliability improvements and delivering engineering projects across the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance activities across a highly automated manufacturing facility

• Fault-find and repair PLC-controlled production equipment

• Support and improve automation, controls and electrical systems

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities

• Drive continuous improvement and reliability initiatives

• Improve machine uptime, efficiency and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)

• Support engineering projects, equipment upgrades and new installations

• Manage PLC backups and control system documentation

• Provide technical support and guidance to the engineering team

• Participate in the engineering call-out rota

Skills & Experience

• Experience as a Lead Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Automation Engineer or Electrical Engineer

• Strong electrical fault-finding skills

• PLC fault-finding experience within manufacturing or production environments

• Experience working on automated machinery and production lines

• Knowledge of continuous improvement and reliability techniques

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and lead engineering initiatives
