    Head of Finance (Part-Time) Bournemouth Office Based 3 Days per Week £75,000 - £85,000 FTE (Pro Rata) Shape the future of finance within a growing creative business. We're working with an ambitious, well-established media business looking to appoint a commercially minded Head of Finance on a genuine part-time basis. This is an opportunity to join the senior leadership team and play a pivotal role in strengthening the finance function while helping the business continue its growth journey. Reporting directly to the Managing Directors, you'll provide strategic financial leadership, improve reporting and controls, mentor an established finance team and ensure the business has the financial insight needed to make confident commercial decisions. This role is designed as a true three-day-per-week position, offering flexibility without compromising the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. The Role You'll provide senior financial leadership across the business, ensuring robust governance while supporting the continued development of the finance function. Responsibilities will include: - Providing strategic financial leadership and acting as the senior finance lead for the business. - Reviewing monthly management accounts, board reporting and financial analysis. - Strengthening financial controls, governance and reporting processes. - Supporting budgeting, forecasting and commercial decision making. - Mentoring and developing the finance team, creating clear development pathways. - Overseeing statutory accounts, tax compliance and financial reporting. - Improving revenue cycle management, cash flow and working capital performance. - Acting as the key finance contact for external accountants, auditors, banks and professional advisers. - Supporting continuous improvement across finance systems and reporting. About You We're looking for an experienced finance leader who enjoys combining strategic thinking with hands-on involvement. You'll ideally have: - ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification. - Previous experience leading a finance function or operating as a Head of Finance or Finance Director. - Strong commercial awareness alongside excellent technical accounting knowledge. - Experience producing and reviewing management accounts, budgets and board reporting. - A collaborative leadership style with experience mentoring and developing finance teams. - Confidence working directly with senior stakeholders and business owners. - Experience within a professional services, creative, digital, agency or project-based environment would be advantageous but isn't essential. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative finance function, leading a small team while taking ownership of financial reporting across multiple international entities.This role would suit a qualified accountant who enjoys working in a fast-paced, evolving environment and is confident partnering with senior stakeholders across the business.The Role Reporting to the Finance Director, you'll be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, managing the month-end close process and ensuring strong financial controls across a number of EMEA entities.You'll also play an important role in supporting continuous improvement initiatives, developing your team and working closely with both finance and operational stakeholders across the organisation. Key Responsibilities include: - Lead the month-end and year-end financial reporting process for multiple legal entities. - Manage and develop a small finance team, providing coaching and technical support. - Ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal controls and corporate accounting policies. - Build strong relationships with senior finance leaders and operational stakeholders across the business. - Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting. - Partner with audit teams to deliver successful internal and external audit processes. - Provide technical accounting guidance on complex financial matters. - Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, controls and efficiencies. - Support finance systems and process improvement projects. About You We're looking for a confident finance leader who enjoys building relationships and leading high-performing teams.You'll ideally have: - ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification. - At least five years' post-qualified experience. - Previous experience managing a financial accounting team. - Experience delivering financial reporting within a large international organisation. - Strong knowledge of UK and US GAAP reporting requirements. - Experience working within a shared services or matrix organisation would be advantageous. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. - A proactive approach with the confidence to work in a changing business environment.
