    PLC Software Engineer Siemens TIA Portal Automated Warehousing Warwickshire £60-65k Samuel Frank is recruiting for a PLC Software Engineer to join a growing automation business delivering turnkey automated warehousing and material handling systems across the UK. This role will suit an Engineer with strong Siemens TIA Portal experience who enjoys seeing projects through from software development in the office to commissioning on customer sites. Based in the North of Warwickshire, you ll spend around 75% of your time developing PLC software in the office and 25% supporting installation and commissioning activities across customer sites in the Home Counties. Travel is project-based, with commissioning phases typically lasting between 4-6 weeks. Key aspects of the PLC Software Engineer role include; - Developing PLC and HMI software using Siemens TIA Portal - Designing structured PLC software using IEC (phone number removed), primarily Structured Text - Working on full project lifecycle automation projects from initial software development through to commissioning and customer handover - Commissioning and optimising multi-axis motion control systems - Configuring and tuning servo drives and motor control systems - Integrating industrial communication networks including Profinet, EtherCAT and OPC-UA - Supporting the development of remote monitoring, diagnostics and IoT-enabled control solutions - Assisting with the implementation and validation of machine safety systems to IEC 61508 and ISO 13849 standards - Working closely with electrical design and mechanical engineering teams to deliver complete automation solutions - Site travel will typically account for around 25% of your time, mainly across the Home Counties, with occasional commissioning phases lasting 4-6 weeks The successful PLC Software Engineer will have; - Strong Siemens TIA Portal PLC programming experience - this is essential - Experience developing PLC software using Structured Text - Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation or a similar engineering discipline would be advantageous - Some Beckhoff PLC experience would be beneficial but isn t essential - Experience of machine builders, OEMs, automated warehousing, logistics, conveyors or material handling systems would be highly desirable - Good understanding of industrial communication networks such as Profinet and EtherCAT - A willingness to travel within the UK during commissioning phases - Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with customers during project delivery The successful PLC Software Engineer will be joining a growing UK engineering team with an excellent pipeline of automation projects. You ll work on technically interesting machinery, gain exposure to the latest control technologies and play an important role delivering bespoke systems from concept through to successful commissioning. The role is commutable from Coventry, Hinckley, Tamworth, East and North Birmingham, Leicester and Rugby.     PLC Software Engineer Gloucester / near to Cotswolds Special Purpose Machinery £60k + Site Uplift (estimated £3-10k per year) + Private Healthcare + 25 Days Holiday Samuel Frank is recruiting for an experienced PLC Software Engineer to join a well-established special purpose machine manufacturer supplying automated machinery to customers worldwide. This PLC Software Engineer role would suit someone who enjoys a mixture of software development, machine support and international commissioning work. The successful PLC Software Engineer will join a business designing and building bespoke machinery for a global customer base. This PLC Software Engineer position offers varied project work, overseas travel and an excellent work-life balance including 9 working days every 10, averaging 37 hour per week over a 2 week cycle. Applicants must be British or European nationals due to international travel requirements Key aspects of the PLC Software Engineer role include: - PLC Software Engineer role focused on PLC, HMI and motion control programming for special purpose machinery - Ideally suited to a PLC Software Engineer with Allen Bradley / Rockwell experience including Studio 5000 and Kinetix motion systems (other PLC & motion system experience will be considered) - Siemens TIA Portal experience would be advantageous but is not essential - Support machine builds, commissioning activities and customer installations - Opportunity to work with networked control systems, vision systems and motion control applications - International travel approximately 4-5 times per year with trips typically lasting 2-3 weeks. Destinations can include the USA, Turkey, North Africa and China - PLC Software Engineer will work 9 days every fortnight creating an extra 22 days holiday per year so total paid holiday is 47 days per year + Bank Holidays - Comfortable working directly with customers and supporting equipment in the field - Strong emphasis on machine safety and high engineering standards - Amazing location very close to the Cotswolds and everything the area has to offer. The successful PLC Software Engineer is likely to have previous experience within special purpose machinery, systems integration or automated manufacturing environments. Experience with Allen Bradley / Rockwell PLCs is strongly preferred.
