The Role: This role will be focused on maintaining, developing, and expanding strategic relationships with clients and stakeholders across the global offshore energy sector, with a particular emphasis on work-class ROV operations, subsea intervention, offshore wind, oil and gas, decommissioning, and emerging offshore energy markets. Key Responsibilities: - Analyse and assess market trends, competitor activity, customer demand, and technology developments within the global work-class ROV and subsea robotics market. - Develop and execute customer capture plans and growth strategies in collaboration with regional Customer Sales Responsible teams and key internal stakeholders. - Identify and influence key decision makers throughout operator, EPC, vessel owner, offshore contractor, and ROV service provider organisations. - Maintain detailed customer account plans, stakeholder maps, and opportunity pipelines within the CRM system. - Develop and grow the Seaeye sales pipeline through proactive engagement with existing and prospective customers. - Provide market intelligence and commercial insight regarding pricing, fleet expansion plans, upcoming projects, asset replacement cycles, and competitor positioning. - Build and maintain long-term strategic relationships with offshore operators, ROV contractors, leasing companies, EPC contractors, system integrators, and industry partners. - Identify opportunities across the entire Seaeye product family and position Saab Seaeye as a strategic technology partner within global energy markets. - Support bid, tender, and proposal activities for major capital equipment programmes, fleet renewals, and long-term framework agreements. - Engage with customers throughout the full sales lifecycle, from opportunity identification through technical qualification, proposal development, negotiation, contract award, and post-delivery support. - Develop business opportunities using the Winning Business (WB) process, ensuring effective qualification, risk management, opportunity progression, and governance. - Represent Saab Seaeye at industry conferences, exhibitions, trade associations, and customer events, promoting the company's position as a market-leading provider of work-class ROV solutions. - Support the identification of emerging opportunities within offshore wind, carbon capture and storage (CCS), subsea mining, energy transition projects, and other developing offshore markets. Qualifications and Skills Required Skills - Proven stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills across complex customer organisations. - Demonstrable experience in Business Development, Sales, or Account Management within technical or engineering-led industries. - Ability to build strong internal and external relationships across multiple functions and geographies. - Proven track record of securing high-value, technically complex contracts and strategic customer agreements. - Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand customer operational challenges and translate technical solutions into business value. Desirable Skills - Commercial and contractual awareness, including experience supporting major tenders and framework agreements. - Experience within the offshore energy, subsea, work-class ROV, marine robotics, offshore wind, oil and gas, or defence sectors. - Product knowledge of Saab Seaeye ROV systems and associated tooling packages. - Established network across offshore operators, ROV contractors, EPC contractors, vessel operators, and subsea service providers. - Operational experience or strong understanding of work-class ROV systems, launch and recovery systems (LARS), control systems, tooling, and subsea intervention operations. - Knowledge of offshore field development, inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR), decommissioning, and renewable energy project activities. - Understanding of industry procurement processes and project delivery models within the offshore energy sector. - Experience operating in international markets and managing global customer accounts. - Familiarity with autonomous and remotely operated subsea technologies, digitalisation, and the evolving energy transition market. We are recruiting for a Senior Systems Engineer specialising in Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) and Distributed Sensing. The successful candidate is expected to fulfil the requirements of a Saab Specialist, and act as a technical leader to: drive development, lead innovation and anticipate future trends, identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and advocate change to maintain competitiveness. Also lead competence development, and formulate and maintain Specialist Work Programmes. Key Responsibilities: As a Senior System Engineer, you will be responsible for enhancing our current products, developing improvements and investigating new areas for product growth, as well as supporting the Engineering Team with various Systems Engineering-focussed activities. - System Architecture & Design. Lead the architectural design of PNT solutions, integrating Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), Inertial Navigation Systems, and alternative PNT (e.g., vision-based, RF-based, or celestial navigation). Architect distributed sensing networks, defining how data is collected, synchronized, and fused across multiple remote nodes to create a unified operational picture. Define system-level requirements, interface control documents, and performance specifications for timing accuracy and positioning precision. Perform trade studies to optimise the balance between size, weight, power, and cost and system performance. - PNT & Synchronization Expertise . Implement and optimise high-precision timing distribution protocols (e.g., PTP/IEEE 1588, NTP, or White Rabbit). Develop strategies for PNT resilience, including mitigation of jamming, spoofing, and GNSS-denied environment operations. Lead the selection and integration of atomic clocks, quantum oscillators, and high-grade IMUs. - Distributed Sensing & Data Fusion . Design algorithms and architectures for distributed beamforming, phased arrays, or coordinated sensor fusion. Manage the challenges of network latency, jitter and asynchronous data arrival in distributed sensing environments. Collaborate with software teams to implement edge-processing capabilities to reduce data backhaul from sensing nodes. - Integration, Test & Evaluation . Develop comprehensive verification and validation (V&V) plans to prove timing and positioning accuracy. Design and execute complex test campaigns using hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop simulations. Lead the analysis of telemetry and test data to identify systemic errors and drive corrective design changes. - Leadership & Mentorship . Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for PNT and Distributed Sensing across cross-functional teams (Radio Frequency, Software, Mechanical). Mentor junior engineers in systems engineering best practices and specialized domain knowledge. Present technical roadmaps and progress reports to senior leadership and external. Skills and Experience: Required - Master's or PhD in a related field. - A minimum of five to ten years industrial radar, communications or electronic warfare systems experience. - A minimum of seven years of experience in systems engineering, specifically focusing on PNT and/or distributed sensor systems. - Proven track record with systems utilising GNSS (GPS, Galileo, GLONASS) and Inertial Navigation (Kalman Filtering, sensor fusion). - Experience with distributed aperture systems, sensor networks, or Multiple-Input Multiple-Output radar architectures. - Proficiency with MATLAB/ Simulink for modelling and simulation. - Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering tools and requirements management tools. - Familiar with the principles of ISO 15288:2023. - During your employment you will handle tasks and materials that are classified as military secret and therefore you must have a UK or Swedish citizenship. Desirable - RF Knowledge: Strong understanding of RF front-end design, antenna theory and signal propagation. - Programming. This is a new role onsite at our Fareham Campus. Role to engineer test solutions for electro-mechanical products to ensure systems are thoroughly exercised to satisfy product requirements. With a wide ranging remit to manage and execute the full lifecycle of test engineering, from definition of test-cases through development of test tools to the execution of testing. As such it will suit someone with a broad spread of engineering knowledge, imagination and drive Key accountabilities and responsibilities: - Lead Test Engineer within the department, to be the guide and support resource for the general Test Engineers - Line manager for Test Engineering group - manage out workload within the Test Engineering team and external 3rd parties as required - Analyse Master / Systems / Sub-System requirements and conformance specifications to derive test requirements - Plan, design and communicate test cases which verify and validate requirements across a broad spread of electro-mechanical systems for both the development and production lifecycle phases - Responsible for closure of workload packages derived from requirements analysis, management of formal Test Reports and other evidence based materials across the Test Engineering team to support the conclusions of investigations - Define the design of test jigs, harnesses and software to allow execution of test cases including, where appropriate, automation. - Implement data processing/ filtering software in a variety of packages to extract relevant results into databases / analysis software packages - Manage the internal test facilities (test tanks, ovens, pools, lifting equipment) - Liaise with external test facilities (EMC, vibration, pools, etc) - Fault finding and failure analysis - Documentation and presentation of results and findings.
