    Head of Sales Worcester Office based (c.3 days per week) plus UK and international travel Base salary of £55,000 - £65,000 depending on experience, plus OTE (%), company car/car allowance The Opportunity This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys building and developing a high-performing commercial function. You will inherit an established sales team, work closely with an experienced marketing function, and manage a healthy pipeline of both inbound and outbound opportunities. Your focus will be to ensure commercial activity is aligned, measurable, and consistently converted into revenue. Reporting directly to the Board, you will lead the sales function, develop the commercial strategy, and play an active role in winning and growing key customer accounts. You will also work closely with marketing to ensure campaigns, lead generation and customer engagement activities support commercial objectives, using customer insight and market intelligence to drive business growth. Key Responsibilities of the Head of Sales - Lead, develop and motivate the sales team, set clear objectives, and drive performance. - Take ownership of key customer relationships and high-value prospects across the UK and international markets. - Develop a structured approach to inbound lead management, ensuring enquiries are effectively converted into sales. - Develop and execute export sales strategies across target markets. - Ensure commercial priorities, customer feedback, and market opportunities are communicated effectively to the marketing team. - Work collaboratively with marketing to develop campaigns that generate qualified leads and measurable revenue growth. - Use customer and market insight to influence product positioning and go-to-market activity. - Maintain accurate CRM data and drive disciplined pipeline management across the sales team. - Report sales performance, pipeline activity, and commercial metrics to the Board. About You You will be an experienced sales leader with a proven track record of delivering growth within a manufacturing or technical products environment. You will also have: - Experience leading and developing successful sales teams. - Strong B2B business development and key account management experience. - Experience working closely with marketing to maximise commercial performance. - A disciplined approach to sales pipeline management and lead conversion. - International or export sales experience. - The ability to understand and communicate technical product information. - Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. - Experience using CRM systems and data to support decision making. - A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel internationally. - A willingness to be office based when not visiting customers. Desirable Experience - Experience within the lifting sector. - A second European language would be advantageous.
