    Internal Sales Representative Location: Chester (Hybrid Working Available) Salary: 26,000 per annum + Bonus Scheme Hours: Full-Time, 35 hours per week (including a half-day finish on Fridays) About the RoleWe are recruiting on behalf of our client for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Internal Sales Representative to join a well-established business within the building products industry. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous internal sales or customer service experience who enjoys building long-term relationships, generating new business and delivering exceptional customer service. Working as part of a collaborative commercial team, you will manage your own customer portfolio, identify new business opportunities and support customers throughout the sales process while working closely with external sales colleagues. Key Responsibilities - Manage and develop a portfolio of customers across the UK. - Generate new business through proactive outbound sales calls and follow-up activity. - Build strong relationships with existing and prospective customers. - Prepare and issue quotations in line with pricing guidelines. - Work closely with the external sales team to deliver a seamless customer experience. - Identify opportunities to increase sales across the full product range. - Meet agreed sales targets, customer growth objectives and margin expectations. - Deliver a professional, knowledgeable and personalised service to every customer. - Support the order processing function during busy periods when required. Sales Administration - Handle customer enquiries via telephone and email in a professional and timely manner. - Process orders accurately and keep customers updated throughout the order process. - Liaise with internal departments to ensure orders, deliveries and customer requirements are met. - Resolve customer queries efficiently, escalating issues where appropriate. - Maintain accurate customer records and update internal systems. - Support colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment. - Develop knowledge across the wider team to provide cover where required. Key Performance Indicators - Achievement of sales volume and profit margin targets. - Growth of existing customer accounts. - Development of new customer relationships. - Increase in sales across the wider product range. - Timely turnaround of customer quotations. - Delivery of excellent customer service standards. Skills & ExperienceEssential - Previous experience within an Internal Sales, Sales Support or Customer Service role. - Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. - A proactive and motivated approach to sales and customer service. - Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. - Good IT skills, including Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word and Outlook. - Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment. Desirable - Experience within the construction, building materials or builders' merchant sector. - Knowledge of ERP systems such as AS400. - Understanding of UK geography and customer territories. - Knowledge of builders' merchants, buying groups and national distributors. Experience Required - Minimum of one year's experience within a customer service or internal sales environment. - Proven ability to develop strong working relationships with customers and colleagues. - Experience using initiative to improve customer service and sales performance. As the Assistant Accountant, your duties will be: - Review & Approve supplier invoices and payments. - Review & Approve Purchase orders. - Prepare journal entries. - Assist with month-end and year-end close processes. - Reconcile balance sheet accounts. - Assist with finance administration and finance reconciliations. - Processing post received at the office. - Generate regular financial reports and management information. - Monitor financial transactions to ensure compliance with company policies. - Support external and internal audit requirements by providing documentation and explanations. - Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems. - Assist in the preparation of management accounts. - Investigate and resolve accounting queries from internal and external stakeholders. - Support continuous improvement of finance processes and controls. - Work closely with colleagues across departments to ensure accurate financial information. - Completion of ONS surveys. - Assist the business controller with Ad-hoc finance tasks.
