    Area Sales Manager SAS (Service of Industrial Assembly Solutions) Location: Wolverhampton (Field-based, covering Central UK / Midlands, Northeast, Southeast and Ireland) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Role We are seeking an experienced Service Sales Engineer to join our SAS (Service of Industrial Assembly Solutions) team. This is a field-based sales role focused on generating revenue through the sale of service solutions predominantly preventative maintenance contracts to our existing customer base. The role covers assembly technologies including adhesive joining and riveting. This is a value-based selling role: rather than competing on price, you will be building the case for the long-term value of moving customers from a reactive to a proactive service model, protecting uptime, extending equipment life, and reducing unplanned downtime. Note: this role sits within our SAS department (Service of Industrial Assembly Solutions) and is unrelated to software or systems analysis please disregard any assumption based on the acronym alone. Key Responsibilities - Sell preventative maintenance contracts and service solutions to existing customers, using a value-based rather than price-led approach - Develop and grow existing accounts, transitioning customers from reactive to proactive service arrangements - Identify and pursue new service opportunities within the existing customer base, since new business predominantly comes from customers already using our products - Build strong, long-term relationships with key customer contacts, acting as a trusted advisor on service and maintenance needs - Collaborate with internal departments (e.g. product sales, engineering, customer service) to identify and follow up on cross-selling opportunities - Prepare and present service proposals and contract offers, tailored to customer needs and equipment usage - Travel across the assigned territory (Central UK/Midlands, Northeast, Southeast and Ireland) to meet customers, expected to be field-based approximately 3 days per week (variable) - Stay overnight when required, for visits involving more than 2 hours' travel - Attend training in Germany as required, to build technical knowledge of the relevant technologies - Maintain accurate account and pipeline records, reporting on account development progress Essential Skills & Experience - Proven experience in a field-based sales role, ideally selling service solutions or contracts - Strong account management skills, with the ability to grow and develop existing customer relationships while also identifying and pursuing new opportunities within those accounts - Comfortable with value-based selling, building a business case around long-term value rather than competing on price - Good communication and presentation skills, able to engage confidently with a range of customer stakeholders - Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the UK and Ireland, including overnight stays when required - Willingness to travel to Germany for training Desirable Skills & Experience - Background in selling service solutions, ideally within adhesive joining, riveting, or related industrial assembly technologies - Some engineering or maintenance exposure, even without direct service-sales experience - Experience transitioning customer accounts from reactive to proactive service models What We Offer - Uncapped commission - Company car - International training opportunities (Germany) - The opportunity to grow accounts within an established, product-led customer base
