The business works across complex international risks and offers a collaborative environment where brokers can gain meaningful exposure to both clients and markets. This is an exciting time to join a growing international team, with the opportunity to work closely with experienced brokers while developing greater responsibility across the placement process. Role Summary An opportunity has arisen for an International Placement Broker to join a specialist International Casualty team. Sitting between a senior and more junior member of the team, the successful candidate will work closely with and report into the Head of International Liability. The position offers broad exposure across international casualty business, with particular activity involving territories including the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. The team is open-minded on geographical experience. Candidates may have previously handled territories such as Canada or Australia, provided they have a solid grounding in international casualty and can adapt that experience to new markets. This is a hands-on broking position covering both placement and the technical processing that sits behind it. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to develop beyond pure servicing and take greater ownership of quoting, placing and helping win accounts. Key Responsibilities - International casualty placement: Support the placement of international casualty risks into the London and wider insurance markets, developing broader market knowledge and relationships. - Market engagement: Approach insurers, obtain quotations and negotiate terms to support successful client placements. - Account development: Take increasing responsibility for helping quote and win accounts, providing progression beyond a purely support-focused broking position. - Technical broking: Prepare slips and manage relevant documentation and processing, giving ownership across the full placement lifecycle. - International portfolio exposure: Work across a varied portfolio of international risks, including business originating from the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. - Team collaboration: Work alongside experienced senior and junior colleagues within a close-knit International team, providing strong opportunities to learn and progress. Requirements - Previous exposure to international casualty insurance or broking. - Experience within a London Market insurance broker or a comparable international broking environment. - Understanding of the placement process, including preparing slips and associated broking documentation. - Comfortable engaging with markets, obtaining quotations and progressing placements. - Adaptable approach, with an interest in developing exposure to different international territories. - Desire to take greater ownership of accounts and develop commercially as a broker. The business will also support candidates who want to continue progressing through relevant professional qualifications.
