This is an opportunity to join one of the region's most respected consultancies at a time of continued growth. You'll work on high-profile public sector programmes that will shape communities across Yorkshire and Midlands region, while enjoying the autonomy and support expected from a senior leadership position. Thanks to a growing pipeline of major public sector commissions, they're looking to appoint an experienced Project Director who can take the lead on complex infrastructure and regeneration schemes from the very beginning. This isn't a delivery focused role where you're parachuted onto site once the project is underway. Instead, you'll be at the heart of the projects that matter most, helping clients shape strategy, establish governance, manage stakeholders and ensure schemes are set up for successful delivery long before construction starts. If you've built your career delivering major infrastructure or regeneration projects for local authorities and enjoy working with senior decision makers, consultants and multidisciplinary teams, this is a fantastic opportunity to influence projects that will have a lasting impact across the region. The Role You'll be the trusted advisor to public sector clients, leading projects through the critical pre-construction stages while providing strategic direction across multidisciplinary teams. Your responsibilities will include: - Acting as the lead client contact on major public sector infrastructure and regeneration projects. - Managing projects through feasibility, planning, governance and procurement stages. - Establishing project governance, reporting structures and programme controls. - Building strong relationships with local authorities, consultants, design teams and delivery partners. - Providing commercial oversight and ensuring projects remain financially robust throughout the pre-contract phase. - Leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated solutions. - Managing project risk, assurance and programme strategy. - Supporting clients in making informed decisions that keep projects progressing efficiently. About You You'll already have a proven background leading complex public sector projects and be comfortable operating at a strategic level with senior stakeholders. We're particularly interested in people who can demonstrate: - Extensive experience delivering infrastructure or regeneration projects within a local authority or public sector environment. - Strong pre-contract and project development experience. - A solid understanding of planning, design development, procurement and construction processes. - Experience working under NEC, JCT or other recognised construction contracts. - Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility at all levels. - Experience managing multidisciplinary teams across technical disciplines. - Strong commercial awareness and project financial management experience. - A structured approach to governance, reporting and programme management. - An engineering, infrastructure or regeneration background would all be considered. If you're looking for a role where you can influence projects from day one, work directly with key decision makers and play a major part in securing the successful delivery of complex infrastructure programmes, I'd be keen to speak with you.
