Senior Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster

Gallagher Bassett, a global leader in risk and claims management, seeks a Senior Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster to manage complex lost-time and litigated claims. You will investigate coverage and liability, analyze medical and wage-loss documentation, set and adjust reserves, and negotiate equitable settlements within authority. Partner closely with employers, injured workers, attorneys, medical providers, and internal teams to drive timely, cost-effective claim resolutions. You'll mentor junior adjusters, ensure regulatory compliance, produce accurate reports, and contribute to process improvements in a professional, client-focused culture.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a caseload of complex workers compensation claims from intake to closure

• Conduct thorough investigations, including statements, medical review, and wage verification

• Analyze coverage, compensability, and liability, and document determinations clearly

• Establish, monitor, and adjust reserves based on exposure and company guidelines

• Negotiate settlements within authority and recommend strategies for litigated files

• Collaborate with employers, injured workers, attorneys, and medical providers to drive resolution

• Ensure compliance with state workers compensation statutes and internal policies

• Prepare accurate reports, correspondence, and documentation within required timelines

• Mentor and support junior adjusters, sharing best practices and technical expertise
