Senior Principal Manufacturing & Cost Accountant

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. seeks a Senior Principal Accountant to lead complex accounting and financial reporting for our U.S. manufacturing operations. In this role, you will own month-end close, consolidations, GAAP compliance, and variance analysis while strengthening internal controls and policies. You will partner with manufacturing, R&D, and operations leaders to analyze costs, margins, and capital investments, and support budgets, forecasts, and long-range planning. You will mentor accounting staff, drive process and systems improvements, collaborate with auditors, and contribute to Honda's innovation-driven, safety- and quality-focused culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead consolidation and financial reporting for U.

• S. manufacturing operations in accordance with GAAPOversee month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, and variance analysis

• Develop, review, and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures

• Partner with operations and manufacturing leaders to analyze costs, margins, and capital investments

• Prepare forecasts, budgets, and long-range financial plans supporting strategic initiatives

• Ensure compliance with corporate, tax, and regulatory reporting requirements

• Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and new standards

• Mentor and develop accounting staff, promoting best practices and process improvements

• Collaborate with audit teams and manage responses to audit findings
