Senior Cost Accountant - Manufacturing

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. seeks an Accounting Senior Specialist to support its U.S. manufacturing operations. In this role, you will own complex accounting activities, including financial statement preparation, general ledger reconciliations, and cost accounting for plant operations. You will partner with operations and finance teams to analyze inventory, variances, and margins, and support budgeting and forecasting. Leveraging strong GAAP knowledge and ERP expertise, you will ensure compliance, strengthen internal controls, support audits, and drive process improvements in a collaborative, innovation-driven culture.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for manufacturing operations

• Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure accuracy of accounting entries

• Support cost accounting, inventory valuation, and variance analysis for plant activities

• Collaborate with operations and finance teams to develop budgets and forecasts

• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and corporate accounting policies

• Assist with internal and external audits, providing schedules and documentation

• Identify process improvement opportunities and support systems enhancements

• Prepare management reports and dashboards to support data-driven decisions Required Skills
